The other day a friend of mine ran into a small problem. He just got a new iPhone after selling his old one and then his computer died before he had a chance to sync up his contact list. He basically lost thousands of contacts by being a bit careless. There is an option provided by apple to help you sync all your contacts to an online server but it cost 99$ a year. To apple’s credit MobileMe is more then just syncing up your contacts and calendar. The other option is to use something called Google Sync. All you need is a google account and you can sync all your contacts and calendar events to their servers for free.

Thanks to GeoHot for releasing a way to jailbreak the iPhone 3Gs for windows. Some clever mac guys thought different and came out with the mac version as well. Real simple to use. Download the program (purplera1n), plug in your iPhone, run the program, wait.. and then run a program called freeze to install Cydia.
Visit purplera1in to download the program.
Please make sure to give the guy a donation for all of his hard work.

The iPhone battery meter was never to useful. It gave me a vague understanding of how much charge I had left on my iPhone. I would love to be able to possibly see a numerical output instead. In steps iPhone 3.0 OS. By going to your Settings, then General, and then you goto Usage, you will see a new option at the top, ‘Battery Percentage’.
Once you set this to on, you will then see a battery percentage next to your battery.
Step 1: Goto Settings/General/Usage
Step 2: Turn Battery Percentage ON
*UPDATE* This feature is only available for the iPhone 3GS. It does exist in the 3.0 OS. My only guess as to why this doesn’t exist on the 3G, being that it’s software only, is that Apple doesn’t really have a long impressive list of new features to offer for the 3GS. This and Voice Controls fall under that category of new features which could of just been added to the 3G via the 3.0 OS update.

So Information Technology is reporting that AT&T have been listening to all of their customers and have now altered their Upgrade policy. It used to be that if you weren’t eligible for the new price you would have to pay $499 for the 16GB iPhone 3G S. It’s still that way but now the early buyers of the iPhone 3G will have the chance to upgrade the to the new iPhone 3G S for the subsidized prices of $199 for the 16GB and $299 for the 32GB. How early you ask?
The second-largest U.S. carrier said those who are eligible for an upgrade in July, August, or September will get the company’s best upgrade price Thursday.
Before jumping in and buying the iPhone 3G S be sure to check out this article entitled “Why The iPhone 3G S May Be A Sucker’s Bet Right Now” over at TechCrunch.

Okay. I’ve been watching [adult swim] for about 8 years now, and as a loyal viewer, I bought their iPhone game titled: “Amateur Surgeon”.
I never buy games from the App store just because I know I will waste my life crouched over that little device, and I think there is something wrong with that.
But I caved in.
This great little game I splurged on was on sale for $ 2.99 (which is the most I will ever spend on a game), and I bought it because I trust the brand. And I shouldn’t trust the brand. [as] treats their viewers like crap. But we love it. And ask for more.

So apple today announced their new version of the iPhone. This third generation will be called the iPhone 3G S. I think the S stands for speed, giving that it is twice as fast as the iPhone 3G. The phone itself looks very similar to the iPhone 3G that I currently own. In fact there aren’t much differences between the 2 phones. Looks the same, soon to have the same operating system enabling (almost) all of the same features and functions.
Now you may or may not have heard of something called Jail breaking. You all know that to add more functionality to your phone you can always download apps from the iTunes App store. Now if apple decides that they don’t like what you created as a developer then chances are your app won’t ever get into the hands of iPhone users.

Before I was into computers I used to be a dj. Spinning at clubs and raves all over the country. All I had back then were two turntables and my records. Spinning at some of these events only required me to bring just my records. We’re talking about 200 12′ inch records, so about 3 heavy bags worth of music.
So about 15 years later I’m back to DJing and thanks to advancements in technology the equipment has gotten a lot lighter. My back is loving technology, let me tell ya, especially at this age.

I saw this on Gizmodo and thought that this was actually super cool. The Artist’s name is Jorge Colombo and he took about an hour to create the cover of the June Issue of the New Yorker using his iPhone and a $4.99 app. The app is called Brushes and it looks pretty cool. Judging by the New Yorker cover this app will let you do most of what you want being an artist.
I would review the app but what your going to get out of me is a bunch of chicken scratch. Their website boasts a whole bunch of cool features like, color pickers, realistic brushes, extreme zooming, eyedropper tools and more.

The world famous white colored iPod/iPhone earbuds are known for visually branding the revolutionary iPod in the minds of those who ever seen a person wearing them. Whenever I seen a pair of white earbud headphones, I immediately assume that person had an iPod or iPhone with them. But the funny thing about the earbuds is the fact that most people I come across usually don’t like the standard white earbuds for many reasons. I realized the number one reason came down to the size of the earbuds being two big for a person ear. Personally I have the same problem and I can only keep the earbuds in my ear for a certain time period before my ears become extremely soar. Not to mention the difficulties keeping the earbuds within my ears. The earbuds would suddenly pop-out when ever I would chew, speak, or simply bite down on something. So what’s the solution to that problem you may ask? Simply replace the famous earbuds with any head phones with a (standard) 3.5mm jack and your all set!
But what if your happy with the earbuds and just want to change the same old tired look and add some style to your headphones? Then my friend, the solution is to add some “Bling Bling”!
